I am pretty sure it is, but just thought I’d get a little more input… It’s an HP Nx9010 laptop, 2.4 ghz, Mobil Intel Pentium 4, used but in excellent condition, 80gig hard drive, cdrw/dvd rom, 512mb ram, ATI video card, 3 usb ports, 15inch display, built in wireless adapter, battery, power supply, has Windows XP Professional installed, and battery holds a good charge. —->0.00

What do you think?

Not to long ago, I was using my laptop when all the sudden, it wouldn’t boot up completely. I think its the hard drive, in fact I am almost certain its the hard drive. My question is, what are some of the steps I need to take in order to successfully swap my hard drive? When I turn the computer on it displays the following message…

Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082)
Copyright (c) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation

For Realteck TRL8100E/8101E Fast Ethernet Network Adapter v1.02 (060510)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.

… then it keeps repeating the same message. the reason why I think its the hard drive is because when the hard drive is in the computer it makes a repetitive noise, almost as if it wants to start up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I just took at look at the Bios, and both with and without the hard drive installed it read "no hard drive." One problem down, now whats next? After getting a new hard drive, how do I go abouts to getting it running right? How do I install windows?

Toshiba Portege R705-P25 Laptop review

The Portege R705 is a 13-inch laptop (similar to Apple’s MacBook), which is the biggest screen size we’d consider carrying around on a regular basis, but also the smallest we’d be able to comfortably use for full-time computing. It’s thinner than the current white plastic MacBook (but not as svelte as the MacBook Air or Dell Adamo XPS), and has a sturdy magnesium alloy chassis. Toshiba lists the Portege R705 for 9, but as of this writing, it can be found online for 9. A handful of business-oriented configs are also available (called the R700, instead of the R705), adding a docking port and a few other corporate-friendly features for 9 and up. For 0-0 less than an entry-level MacBook, you get a newer Intel Core i3 processor (the basic MacBook has an older Core 2 Duo CPU), a large 500GB hard drive, and Intel’s Wireless Display technology, which allows the laptop’s display to be beamed to a remote TV or monitor (this requires a sold-separately 0 Netgear adapter that connects to your TV). Not to draw too many MacBook comparisons, but it also has an SD card slot (as does virtually every Windows-based laptop no matter the price), something the 9 MacBook lacks.

Dell Latitude 450MC booting Windows 3.1

My old Dell Laptop (1993) with: 2Gb HD, 8Mb RAM, 1Mb Video Ram, Intel 486 DX2 @66Mhz. No floppy drive (broken) or battery. Currently I put files on it using an USB—IDE adapter. This is an example of how the modern PC are built: they can keep working for 15 years! Currently, this pc has been reformatted with its original 341Mb hard drive. I can put files on it only through Interlnk and Intersvr (see other video). After some hours of modifying the original config.sys and autoexec.bat I finally got a sort of Multi-option-boot system, which, once started, can be used in 4 “modes”: “Only Dos”, “Windows 3.1″, “Interlnk client”, “Interlnk server”. Also, I’ve put on it the drivers for my “new” printer, Office 6.0 for windows and some games… the next goal is browsing the net with it!

This is a short glimpse into the process of adding an SSD to your macbook Pro while maintaining your current hard drive. This is achieved by sacrificing your superdrive in favor of a 9.5mm SATA adapter. This adapter allows any 9.5mm drive bay to be turned into a standard 2.5″ hard drive bay. My machine now runs an 80GB Intel G2 SSD and the original 500GB stock drive. I will be following this video with an in-depth, technical look into ssds and their abilities (within the Mac environment). Stay tuned.
