A brief overview of a useful product I’ve had for quite a while now. This can be found online on sites such as ebay. What I didn’t mention in the video is that this cable is both compatible with Windows and Mac. I’m trying out a new intro, so leave comments!

Need Help Updating Drivers…?

I think my desktop’s drivers need updating b/c it wouldn’t recognize my new WesternDigital HardDrive, although it was recognized on 3 other laptops…no "new hardware" popups and it doesn’t even show on "my computer"
then i tried uploading a vid from my DCR-HC21 Sony Handycam using a USB (can’t find the firewire) and it’s not even recognized either!…I used it w/this computer before…but now nothing shows up! WMM can’t even capture the vid from it!

so I downloaded Driver Detective, but it’s not free, so I guess i have to take their list of "needs updates" drivers from the scan on my comp. and manually install them all? But it’s confusing…can you please find me the correct drivers to install?

The Problem: I was noticing that one of my hard drives was making an odd sound when it was spinning up for about a week, I was uncertain which of the drive it was that was making the sound so like a fool I did not take any initiative before it gave out. I was working on my PC one day just fine and had completed my work and left the room. About 2 hours later I returned and had found that the computer had shut itself off and had attempted to reboot itself was it was sitting in a boot screen where it appeared to not be able to boot from the harddrive and was asking for a CD to boot from.

This lead me to assume that the hard drive that had gone bad was the one that the main windows vista OS. I wanted to recover the documents on the hard drive without having to open the case up, so I booted the computer up with Puppy Linux, I had some issues with PL recognizing all three drives as I was only able to mount the 1 drive that had nothing but movies saved to it. Since these were file I was not concerned about and was not able to get either of the other drives to mount I shut the PC down, opened the case and removed the HDD that had the OS on it.

Using a IDE/SATA Device adapter, I hooked up the PC to a spare laptop that I had and was able to retrieve all the files I thought were necessary to save. I went back to the desktop PC and hooked everything back up and was planning on just reinstalling the OS on one of the 2 drives that was left. But once I turned the PC back on it immediately shut itself off and then turned itself back on. The monitors did not turn on to acknowledge any video signal and the PC continues to shut itself off and back on.

So that is where I am now. The PC is not getting to any boot screen, and if it was the monitors are not coming on like the PC was never turned on, and the PC constantly shuts itself off and then reboots itself and just keep repeating the process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is an unboxing and how to video on installing a 40-pin hard drive into an external enclosure. Hope it helps and you like it: Please rate it and subscribe! PS I did cut out some boring bits ans sped up one spot when I was just turning a couple of screws. Before you use it with the USB loader, you do have to format the drive, and do other setup, but this video just covers the physical installation and shows that this model of drive enclosure will work with the Wii. For more information on how to do all the setup of the formatting, and the steps necessary to setup the Wii to accept a USB hard drive, just Google “usbloader GX” for current information, as I have found it changes frequently, and I do not want to put information in this video that may become outdated. Need help w/ using an ide adapter for laptop.?

My laptop won’t boot up, but I know the harddrive is good. I bought an IDE adapter for it, but when I connected it to my desktop it seemed to be trying to boot up to Win. 2000 (that was my laptop OS), but then I got an error message telling me to remove the harddrive and try again…when I tried using it as the secondary drive nothing happened (my main desktop drive should have booted up). Any suggustions?????
Ok, my laptop is a Dell Latitude LM, OS: Win 2000. My desktop is an older IMB model, with an OS: Win 98SE.
THe reason I want to look at it is because my laptop got wet once and hasen’t worked wel since then (it works off an on — but when it did the HD was great). Now the little green light on the LCD case lights up, but i don’t see the little tiny screen reconizing any power. SO, I want to laod my laptop HD on my desktop, then go in and remove all my personal files, then sell my laptop. Overall I would like to get my laptop fixed, but I don’t want to pay $$$ to do so. Is it possible that maybe the BIOS battery is dead? would that cause the problems I’m seeing?
If the laptop BIOS battery is the problem, do you have any idea of where i could buy another one, or where I could read how to do it?
