I have a laptop that doesn’t power up, it is completely death. Can someone please direct me to buy some sort of adapter that will let my Laptop Hard Drive, which is IDE to my desktop’s IDE port or especially if possible to a USB port…..thank yoU!

My HP laptop power cord adapter broke after someone tripped over my cord in the bookstore. The computer was about 6 years old and it would have costed too much to repair the adapter so I bought a new laptop. I had most of the files backed up but there are some pictures and a few other files that I want to get off the old laptop.
